DIABETES AWARENESS MONTH

This World Diabetes Day, the focus is on early diagnosis and reducing the risk of type 2 diabetes — messages we can all get behind!

Did you know that type 2 diabetes can develop without obvious symptoms? Some people may live with the condition for years without knowing it.

When diabetes goes undetected, it can increase the risk of serious complications, including:
❤️ Heart and blood vessel disease
👁️ Vision loss
🩺 Kidney disease
🦶 Nerve damage and, in severe cases, amputation

The good news? Early detection makes a difference! 💙

Knowing your risk, recognising possible symptoms and getting checked early can help you access the right support and treatment sooner, reducing the risk of complications.

✔️ Take a moment to think about your risk.
✔️ Learn about the risk factors for type 2 diabetes.
✔️ Talk to your healthcare professional if you're concerned.
✔️ Ask whether a diabetes check is right for you.

You don't have to wait until you feel unwell to take action.

📣 This World Diabetes Day, let's spread the word about the importance of early detection and taking steps towards better health!
