MHT DIABETES TRUST

MANAWATU, HOROWHENUA and TARARUA DIABETES TRUST

Receiving a diabetes (mate huka) or prediabetes (tūraru mate huka)  diagnosis can sometimes feel overwhelming and isolating. If you're unsure about where to start or who to talk to, the MHT Diabetes Trust can help.

The MHT Diabetes Trust is a Charitable Trust that serves the people of the Manawatu, Horowhenua and Tararua regions. We also support youth with diabetes and their families (whānau) in Whanganui.

Our registered nurses and dietitians provide free, diabetes group education for people with pre-diabetes and diabetes throughout the MidCentral North Island.   Our evidenced-based education provides credible information in a supportive environment to help you take action to manage your diabetes and health.

Our youth coordinator provides youth and family support for whānau with a child (tamariki) or youth (rangatahi) with diabetes, and for young adults up to age 30 years.  We provide opportunities to connect and network, providing a safe and fun environment to spend time with other people who understand what it means to have diabetes.

Offering a variety of in-person, online courses, support groups, social events and camps, the MHT Diabetes Trust can help support you and your whānau at any stage during your diabetes journey. We look forward to walking with you on your well-being (hauora) journey.  Haere Pai.

We value your safety! Learn more about our SICKNESS/COVID policy.
